Tonight, RED SPAROWES is playing one of ten US dates at the Magic Stick, in Detroit, MI.

I’ve been wanting to see these guys for a few years now - and tonight should be amazing. If you are not familiar with them, they are an instrumental band, heavily layered, textured and atomspheric—bringing up feelings/influences of other bands like early SONIC YOUTH, GODSPEED YOU BLACK EMPEROR—and running in the same vein as PELICAN, RUSSIAN CIRCLES, MOGWAI.

Members of the band have been a part of/are in NEUROSIS, ISIS, ANGEL HAIR, THE VSS, and more. They release their materials on NEUROT RECORDINGS, home of NEUROSIS.

If you can make it, I highly recommend it. They don’t tour often, certainly don’t come around Detroit often, and it’s going to be a great evening. Bring extra cash—you will want to buy music and more there, if you don’t already own anything by them.
